Stars Of The Future: WHC Hire Apprentices Shortlisted For HAE Awards of Excellence
We are thrilled to announce that WHC Hire apprentices Danny Rowling and Christian Duplak have both been shortlisted for “Apprentice of The Year” in the HAE Awards of Excellence 2025.
Both apprentices have become an integral part of our operation at our HQ depot in Tewkesbury while studying their Land Based Service Engineer (Plant) level 3 apprenticeships at Reaseheath College since 2023.
Danny joined WHC Hire in 2020 as a trainee in our small tool department. His astonishing work ethic and attention to detail have driven standards of safety and quality within our workshop even higher. Danny prominently focused on the servicing and repairs of all our petrol, air, and electrical equipment. While actively supporting our newer staff members who work in the small tools and other work areas.
Danny commented, “When I heard the news, I was quite shocked and surprised to be nominated for apprentice of the year. I feel that I have worked hard learning my craft here at WHC and I cannot thank James enough for the opportunity.”
Christian joined as a trainee in 2021 as part of the Government’s Kick Start Scheme. Since then, he has demonstrated an exceptional ability to work meticulously under pressure, diagnosing faults on excavators, dumpers, rollers, and telehandlers. In doing so, he has become a valuable asset to our in-house and mobile operations.
Christian commented, “I am honoured to receive this recognition, it’s a wonderful achievement. I want to thank my boss James for giving me the opportunity to grow and progress within the plant hire industry.”
Both apprentices will be attending the HAE Awards of Excellence in London on the 12th April 2025.
MD James Clutterbuck said, “What an incredible achievement. Both Christian and Danny have become such valued members of the WHC Hire team since their arrival. This recognition is only the beginning for these young men. Not only do they have the talent, but also the willingness to go a long way in their careers within our niche industry. I wish them the best of luck at the finals evening on 12th April.”
