WHC Make It 8 Consecutive RoSPA Gold Medal Awards
WHC Hire Services is proud to announce that it has received its 8th consecutive Gold Medal Award from the internationally recognised Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). This prestigious accolade recognises the company’s continued commitment to maintaining and advancing outstanding health and safety practices.
Now in its 69th year, the RoSPA Awards programme stands as the UK’s largest and most influential health and safety recognition scheme. With nearly 2,000 entries submitted annually from over 50 countries—impacting more than seven million employees—the programme shines a spotlight on organisations that consistently demonstrate excellence and a culture of continuous improvement in health and safety.
Open to both competitive and non-competitive entries across 32 industry sectors, the RoSPA Awards offer a platform for organisations to stand alongside global leaders in creating safer, healthier workplaces. Each entry is assessed on the organisation’s overall health and safety management systems, including leadership, risk control, workforce involvement, and long-term commitment to accident and ill-health prevention.
WHC Hire remains deeply dedicated to providing the safest possible working environments—not only for its staff but also for its wide range of clients. By supplying high-performance equipment and educational support, WHC Hire plays a vital role in helping businesses operate more safely and efficiently.
This latest Gold Medal Award marks a continued milestone in WHC Hire’s mission to uphold the highest standards in workplace safety and well-being.
MD James Clutterbuck said, “I am delighted to receive yet another outstanding accolade for the work we do here at WHC Hire. Ever since I started the business back in 1997, my goal has always been to create an environment where safety comes first—ensuring that every member of my team returns home safely to their families each day. Health and safety in the plant hire industry is absolutely paramount, and we are proud to continue leading the way in setting the standards. This marks our 8th consecutive RoSPA Gold Medal Award, and we couldn’t be prouder.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said:
“WHC Hire Services should be proud of the hard work and commitment to keeping people safe that has resulted in a RoSPA Award, which honours those organisations who have achieved the highest standards in health and safety in the workplace.
RoSPA regards WHC Hire Services as a strong example of the importance of making accident prevention central to any successful organisation, not just for the benefit of employees, customers and clients, but also society as a whole.’
Sponsored by the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), the RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest-running of its kind in the UK, and receives entries from organisations across the globe, making it one of the most sought-after achievement awards for the health and safety industry.”
Dee Arp, NEBOSH Chief Quality Officer and the Head Judge of the RoSPA Awards, said:
‘NEBOSH is delighted to be the headline sponsor of the RoSPA Awards. Recognising excellence in health and safety is essential to ensure we celebrate achievement, but it is also about reinforcing a culture of care, accountability and continuous improvement. These awards serve as a powerful reminder that employee safety and wellbeing transcends borders and looking after our people, so they can go home safe, healthy and happy every day, also drives sustainable success and resilience.’
