Four More WHC Employees Qualify As Supervising Mental Health First Aiders
WHC Hire Services is delighted to announce that 4 more members of our team have qualified in FAA Level 3 Supervising First Aid in Mental Health. This takes the tally up to 25% of the entire workforce successfully completing this qualification with the intention to train more level 2 staff.
The course led by Vally Plant Training offered an intensive, comprehensive insight of how mental health impacts the workplace. The construction industry still remains one of the most hazardous sectors, with over 700 deaths each year linked to mental health struggles. Mental health challenges, however, are universal and can affect anyone. By learning to recognise early signs of distress, our workforce members are now better equipped to direct individuals toward professional assistance where necessary.
The training was completed on site at WHC Hire’s headquarters in Ashchurch Tewksbury over the period of two days.
MD James Clutterbuck said, “Poor mental health affects thousands of individuals in our industry each year. My priority has always been to provide a safe, supportive environment where every employee feels valued and looks forward to coming to work each day. At WHC Hire, we are dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health in the workplace and reinforcing that it’s okay not to be okay. With the addition of new Level 3 Supervising Mental Health First Aiders, we aim to further support our staff, both at work and with personal challenges they may face. I am also proud that we’ve managed to train 25% of our workforce across three counties—this truly reflects our commitment to this cause. Well done to everyone involved!”
WHC Hire would like to thank local training provider Vally Plant Training for delivering an exceptional course lead with passion towards supporting mental health in our industry.
