WHC Hire Staff Complete Accredited Forklift Training

Two WHC staff have successfully completed a novice accredited forklift training provided by Gloucestershire Training FLT-AITT in Toddington, Cheltenham. This introductory 4-day course provides a mixture of theory and hands-on experience of operating forklifts for the first time. The course itself covers a wide range of in-depth knowledge to enhance safety and well-being whilst operating the machinery.

The AITT-accredited introductory course syllabus included:

Day 1 – Theory/Classroom

Day 2 – Steering exercises and induction to truck

Day 3 – Stacking and racking exercises

Day 4 – Chicane lessons and theory test

Day 5 – Pre-use inspection test and practical test.

On completion of this course comes a certificate that does not expire, but recommends a refresher course every 3-5 years. Gloucestershire Training delivered the classroom sessions of this introductory course in the comfort of our Cotswold depot in Chipping Norton. Thereafter, all practical work and assessments were conducted at Gloucestershire Training’s facility in Toddington.

Gloucestershire Training’s director Sarah Dixon opened the centre back in 2019 just before the pandemic and has continued to grow her business from strength to strength. Situated on the Orchard Industrial Estate in Toddington, the facility offers first-class tuition and equipment for its candidates enrolled on their AAIT-accredited syllabuses. Sarah and her team offer over 50 different forklift courses including pivot steer trucks, PPT training, counterbalance, reach truck and more for all abilities and experiences. Additionally, Gloucestershire Training offers HGV, PCV, CPC and online training courses to suit.
