WHC Receives First of 26 New Eco Welfare Units From Groundhog
Award-winning plant and tool hire company WHC Hire Services is delighted to announce the arrival of the first of 26 new Groundhog Eco Fusion Pulse mobile welfare units. This latest investment reinforces our commitment to providing more sustainable and environmentally responsible hire solutions for the UK construction industry.
The initial units arrived in May 2025 and have already been deployed to a long-term contractor, with additional units scheduled to roll out in the coming months. These advanced mobile welfare facilities are designed with sustainability at their core, boasting features such as hybrid power systems, solar energy integration, and low-emission generators to help reduce the environmental impact of site operations.
“This latest investment represents an important step forward in WHC’s sustainability journey and our ongoing commitment to supporting our clients,” said James Clutterbuck, Managing Director of WHC Hire Services.
“Across the construction and utilities sectors, there is increasing pressure to adopt greener, low-emission site solutions as we move closer to key environmental targets. By expanding our fleet with these 26 new eco welfare units, we’re ensuring that our customers have immediate access to the sustainable equipment they need—when and where they need it.”
These new eco units are especially suited for businesses operating long-term construction and infrastructure projects, offering a practical and portable solution for companies actively working to reduce their emissions and meet their sustainability goals.
WHC’s decision to invest in Groundhog’s latest technology aligns closely with all of the core values of the business. Over recent years, WHC has developed a strong relationship with Groundhog, including sending WHC team members to Groundhog’s headquarters in South Wales for specialised training. This training ensures WHC staff are well-equipped to support customers in deploying and operating these units effectively on-site.
Businesses looking for eco-friendly welfare solutions can now benefit from the next generation of mobile welfare units, available to hire from WHC depots across the region.
