WHC Supports Severn Trent Services Volunteer Day @ Kingswood Trust
WHC Hire Services, a leading supplier of plant and tool hire, recently supported Severn Trent Services Volunteering Day at the Kingswood Trust in Wolverhampton.
The Kingswood Trust is an outdoor learning centre that welcomes over 8,000 visitors each year. It provides educational programs for all ages, promoting health, well-being, and a deeper connection with nature.
The Trust delivers a wide range of nature-based experiences, including day visits, residential stays, Forest School programmes, and curriculum-linked outdoor education. These opportunities support not just children’s development but also the well-being of adults. The site is open to schools, families, community groups, and businesses, with weekend and holiday events, scout and guide camps, and bespoke corporate team-building activities.
To support Severn Trent Services’ Volunteering Day, WHC Hire Services donated a mini digger, dumper, and roller. Led by Ross Stokes, the team was able to boost their productivity, completing the equivalent of 350 hours of volunteer work in just a few days. With the help of the machinery and their combined efforts, the volunteers carried out a wide range of tasks including path laying, ramp installation, grounds maintenance, rotavating, painting, fence construction, and orchard improvements.
Ross Stokes said, “it’s great that we can volunteer some of our time at Severn Trent and our supply chain to help the wider community. Hopefully the work we’ve completed has helped improved some of the site and will make it more accessible for groups using it in the future. It was clear for all the volunteers to see what a great place Kingswood Trust is and the value it gives to the communities it serves”
WHC Hire Services Managing Director, James Clutterbuck, added, “We were delighted to support Severn Trent with their Volunteering Day. The Kingswood Trust plays a vital role in the Wolverhampton community and beyond. When Ross approached me about supplying machinery, I was thrilled to offer our support with a mini excavator, dumper, and ride-on roller. A massive well done to all the Severn Trent volunteers who made such a meaningful impact by giving their time to this cause.”
