Daily operators checks 3t dumper

Hello and welcome to our dumper series here at
WHC Hire. In this video we’re going to
take you through the pre-operational
checks that you should be doing for one
of our 3t dumpers from Thwaites,
the swivel tip design.

Visual Checks
So what we’re looking for is any damage
that wasn’t there the last time that we
used the machine. So we’re going to check
outside of the skip also
checking each tire as we go around and
be sure to check for any punctures or
slashes in the tires.

Then we come back to the rear of the
machine and what we’re going to check
that the ROPS bar is secured correctly,
ensuring that the linchpins are locked
in place on both sides.
Once you’re happy with that we’ll work
around to the other side of the machine.
Again on this side what we’re looking
for just double checking the tires.
Checking the outside of the skip, no
damage to tires.
No external damage to the skip, double
checking our front tire as well. And once
we’ve completed that we can move on to
our fluids and our levels checks. For
this machine to begin your levels and
fluid checks we need to access the
engine of the machine which can be found
underneath the operator’s seat. Simply
use the cap under the seat to lift the bonnet up
to expose the engine.
From here we’ve got our fuel filler,
we’ve got a fuel gauge,
we’ve got our engine coolant,
oil dipstick, and oil filler.
And our air filter. Once you’re happy
with these levels checks simply lower
the seat down to close up the engine. And
now we can begin our electrical and
final safety checks. To do so we need to
get ourselves into the machine safely
using three points of contact.
Now once in on the machine we need to
quickly double check that our beacons
are secured safely.
And then we’re ready to sit on our seat
and pop our seat belt on.
Remember the machine will not turn on or
will not move without the seat belt
engaged. Now we’re going to take our
operator’s key and pop it into the
ignition turn it to position one.
By doing so we should confirm that both
the beacons are working correctly.
Double-check the horn works

And then you’re okay to turn the machine
off. On completion of these checks the
machine now is safe and ready to use. To
successfully start the machine simply
follow the startup procedure found in
the playlist of our dumper videos.
