Hello everyone and welcome to our roller series here at WHC Hire.

With me today we’ve got our Bomag 80 twin drum roller, and what we’re going to do is we’re going to cover how to start the machine correctly and successfully. To start with we need to enter the machine using three points of contact.

As we mentioned we’re going to use three points of contact to enter the machine correctly and we’re going to use the handlebar on the side of the control panel and on the seat.

Now once safely and comfortably in your seat grab your seat belt which is on your left-hand side and secure it properly on the opposite side.

And now you can adjust your seat to your own personal preferences either by the handle down on the left-hand side of the seat which moves the seat backwards and forwards.

The handle in between your legs which will recline the seat and then you can adjust the height of the rear of the seat behind you on your left-hand side. Now you’re ready to start the machine.

Ensure that the kill switch is pulled out and also that the right-hand joystick which controls the forward and backwards motion of the machine is in neutral.

Once you’ve done that and your seat belt is secured properly, take your operator’s key and pop it into the machine turn it to position one and let the engine prime. You’ll see your console light up.

And after the automatic prime for about 5 to 10 seconds, you can turn the machine into position two you. Now you have successfully started your Bomag roller.

If you come into any problems starting the machine, just follow this sequence and it will start every single time. Once you are finished with the machine you can key off. Remove the key from the machine and then you can undo your seat belt and exit the machine using three points of contact. And there you go, everyone, that is the correct startup procedure for one of our Bomag 80 Rollers that you can hire from WHC Hire.
