View Transcript

Hello everyone and welcome back to our excavator series and in today’s video I’m going to take you through the process of getting one of these eight ton Kubotas started from WHC. All you’re going to need is your operator’s key and to jump into the cockpit. Follow me.

Now when entering any of our machinery make sure that we open the door and secure it properly, and then use the handlebars that are supplied for your three points of contact. Now we’re in our excavator seat we’re going to need to do a couple of pre-start checks to ensure the machine will start first time.

First and foremost is your seat belt, make sure that you’ve got that engaged. The machine may not turn on without this actually engaged so ensure that’s there. Then you’ve got your left arm armrest. For the machine to start it needs to be in upward position. Then take out your operator’s key pop it into the ignition and turn it to position one.

This is going to start the preheating of the engine ready for it to turn on. Once the preheating is finished you can turn the key to position two to start the engine.

Now the excavator is started to engage the hydraulics all you have to do is drop your left arm armrest and commence your work. When you’ve finished using the machine simply lay it down into the resting position. Lift up your left arm armrest, and then you can key off.

Now the machine is turned off you can exit the machine safely using three points of contact. Right and there you go team, that is the correct startup procedure for one of our 8 tonne excavators here at WHC hire. Now if you’re coming into any problems whilst going through this procedure ensure that that left armrest is up and also that your seatbelt is engaged. For any more problems please get in contact with your local WHC Hire Depot as soon as possible, so we can make sure the machinery is safe for you to use and get you up and running.

Thank you so much for joining me in this video today but until the next one take care and bye-bye for now.
